The History of Ancient India 2 Vols. Set (Pb)
The History of Ancient India is an extraordinary account of 30 centuries of human culture and advancement. It is segmented into several distinguished eras, each of which, in terms of its duration, can be compared to the history of many contemporary nations.
I would like to articulate a few words on the theme of the present work. I have frequently contemplated whether it is possible, with the current assistance available, to draft a concise, factual, and popular historical narrative of the Ancient Indian Civilization, founded on ancient Sanskrit literature, that would appeal to a general reader.
The methodology employed in this work is uncomplicated. My primary purpose is to provide the general reader with a pragmatic and concise overview of the ancient history of India. Every chapter in this work is devoted to subjects that have been extensively researched, and diverse viewpoints have been recorded.
The entire work is divided into five parts: the Vedic Period, spanning B.C. 2000 to 1400; the Epic Period, ranging from B.C. 1400 to 1000; the Rationalistic Period, from B.C. 1000 to 242; the Buddhist Period, from B.C. 242 to A.D. 500; and finally, the Puranic Period, spanning A.D. 500 to 1194.
