Rafat Saeed Qureshi is a distinctive Urdu writer with over a hundred articles, features, reviews, and translations. His writings have been published at both regional and national level. His main contribution is in art, culture, history, and monuments. An activist in the field of history and monuments, he has been dedicated to preserving monuments and creating awareness about the significance and importance of preserving and conserving monuments for posterity and promoting tourism. Rafat Saeed is a regular talker on Akashwani (All India Radio) and has conducted a series of talks on Various monuments of India which attained immense popularity, especially for its literary touch. His major contribution to A.I.R was his feature on the famous Nehr-e-Ambari a medieval water system selected on all India level and aired for the SAARC countries especially due to the grave water problem in Asian countries. He is associated with various literary organizations. He was the President of Anjuman-Tarakkhi-e Urdu, A'bad for five years and is the Vice President of the History Academy. Rafat Saeed has received special acclaim in the literary world of Urdu for his translations from English to Urdu in National Magazines like Aaj-Kal, Delhi which has a huge readership.
Apart from these activities, he belongs to the traditional Handicraft family and has worked hard to preserve his family craft through thick and thin Qureshi has formed a Himrob Research and Development Centre of which he is the Chairman. This is a Non-Government organization. The main objective of this organization is to generate employment for economically backward people, keep the family craft alive, and most importantly introduce innovative designs and change their utility to modern demands.
