Facets of Indian Culture
Facets of Indian Culture- A Commemoration Volume in Celebration of the Birth Centenary of Swami Prajnannanda (Set of 2 Volumes)
Dedicated to the hallowed memory of the erudite monk Swami Prajnanananda Ex-President, Sri Ramakrishna Vedanta Math, Kolkata, the selected collection of Research Articles by more than seventy scholars is presented as a humble tribute to him in celebration of his hundredth Birthday. With several articles on his life and spiritual legacy and his great preceptors, Sri Ramakrishnadev and Swami Abhedananda, starting as the initial homage, the collection is categorized into twelve Sections with eighty-one Chapters in all. These Sections endeavored to be comprised of the different facets of Indian Culture. Even if these Sections subject-wise are not comprehensive, the Chapters in all totality are considered reasonably exhaustive. Among the Sections, some, especially on Arts and Music, are very relevant to be appreciated as those dearest to the Swamiji whose written contribution in these spheres remains unique and invaluable. In selecting the contributors for some of the articles, special care has been taken to include those that were imbued with his spiritual message by personal contact in life, The compendium, after all, is only meant to be a fitting homage to that great soul, rather than as a fruitful storage of reports on researches on the subjects update. Herein lies the justification for a planned and selective treatise as this and the fulfillment of the purpose for which it is meant.
